Blaine Area Icelandic Settlers |
| Starting with Gudny and Thorunn Lee, in 1885, the Blaine
and Pt. Roberts areas attracted many Icelandic settlers looking for a
new home. One that could also remind them of their former homeland.
Puget Sound, with its islands, harbors and abundant fishing, offered the setting--and the economic promise-- these newcomers were seeking. The stories of those Icelandic settlers are gathering here. If you would like to contribute your family's story please contact us.
